Introduction of Business Analysis
Business analysis is
the process of identifying business needs and determining solutions to business
problems. It is set of tasks, knowledge, and techniques required identifying
business needs and determining solutions to enterprise business problems.
Although, the general definition is similar, the practices and procedures may
vary in various industries.
Business analysis may also be performed to understand the current state of an
organization or to serve as a basis for the identification of business needs.
What does a Business Analyst Do?
The Business Analyst role is about linking and liaising.
Broader than IT, the BA focuses on solutions in the context of the
organization’s goals, regardless of whether they utilize technology. The BA
role is about meeting business needs and ensuring investment in the right
solutions. Thus a professional business analyst plays a big role in moving an
organization toward efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
It is a set of tasks and techniques which work as a
connection between stakeholders. These help them understand organization’s
structure, policies, and operations. They can also recommend solutions to help
the business reach its goals.
However, organizational titles vary such as analyst,
business analyst, business systems analyst or maybe systems analyst.

Qualities of a Good Business Analyst:
1. Impressive Communication:
Business analysts must be good communicators. This means
they can facilitate working meetings, ask good questions, listen to the answers
(really listen), and absorb what’s being said. In today’s world, communication
does not always happen face-to-face. Great business analysts know effective
communication isn’t an option; it’s a necessity.
2. The Ability to Solve Problems:
There are no projects where there are no issues. In fact,
every project revolves around finding a solution to the problem.
Problem-Solving skill is the skill to determine and understand a problem.
Business Analysts ascertain potential solution to a problem while keeping the
project’s scope in mind.
3. Analysts Create Clarity:
Business analysts are responsible for evaluating multiple
options before helping a team settle on a solution. This skill is an organized
way of interpreting, applying, analyzing and evaluating an action. It is
necessary for Business Analysts as a need to evaluate multiple potential
solutions before applying any one to the problem.
